Question Inherited Beliefs – Tools for Transformation Part 2
by Kathy Gardarian
Let us build the reality that we want together, joined hand in hand with love, light and joy.
“Question inherited beliefs. Look for where they do or don’t resonate, using intuition like a divining rod. Keep whatever works, and let go of the rest, with gratitude.”
When I was very young, I lived a double life. By day I lived in a restrictive Catholic world full of rigid rules, suffering and pain. By night my universe opened up to reveal a wondrous realm where I communicated with my imaginary friends. In my nocturnal alternate reality, I felt full of ease, joy and more love than I could ever imagine.
Even as a small child, I was able to distinguish between our family’s religion and my own deep connection to spirit. The notions of “sin” and “hell” that were pushed on me at church made no sense. Meanwhile, I heard what was real and true inside my own heart.
Fortunately, I was able to shed my inherited beliefs like an old winter coat.
How about you?
What beliefs were handed down to you? Which feel right and which do you have to abandon?
Challenging old ideas can be a scary process, but in order to be fully conscious, we must buck up and decide for ourselves what notions resonate in our lives. This is both true personally and professionally!
Let us build the reality that we want together, joined hand in hand with love, light, and joy. Whatever antiquated roadblocks stand in our way can be relinquished with grace and gratitude.
